Description
In Traditional Chinese Medicine it is said that the Schisandra berry contains five basic flavors: salty, sweet, sour, pungent, and bitter – which is why it’s called the 5-taste fruit. Schisandra can calm the heart and quiet the spirit. The high antioxidant of this berry helps reduce inflammation, that is why its utilized in syrups. It can also be used as an infusion, tea decoctions, and herbal brews (soft simmer).
